This clinic is designed for any highly motivated swimmer who wants a glimpse into the college swimming experience. From technical swim workouts and information on strength training to campus and academic life, the goal is to educate and inspire swimmers on the differences and possibilities of swimming for any collegiate program.
Coaches Kevin Tyrrell, Harvard Men's Swimming and Diving, and Meghan Claflin, Tufts University, will guide swimmers from the recruiting process to life as a student-athlete.
This clinic is open to all rising 9th-12th grade students especially those who are interested in swimming in college (high school graduating classes of 2025-2028). We do not offer transportation or overnight accommodations.
Swim training in college can be very different than what many swimmers previously experience. The goal in college is to find a swimmer's strengths and provide more specific training for those events. As a result, training can be both specific and creative at times.
The majority of swimmers participate in dryland activities conducted mostly by swim coaches. In college, many programs have specific strength and conditioning staff working to assist the swimmers while making sure they remain injury free.
While swimming does consume a lot of time as an activity, academics and friendships are important too. Hear from current college students on how they balance their life on campus.
There are different recruiting rules for Division I, II and III. Knowing the rules and identifying which division suits your ability is critical to understanding the recruiting process.
